  10. You can execute Visual Modem in its "uninstalled" state by executing
  11. VM.EXE from Windows; however, the installation program provided here
  12. auto-installs Visual Modem on your hard drive and creates a Visual
  13. Modem Program Group and Icon on your main Windows desktop. To run
  14. the auto-install program, run SETUP.EXE from Windows. Visual Modem
  15. will take it from there...

  19. Installation Caveat...
  20.  
  21. The Visual Modem autoinstall program (SETUP.EXE) will work only
  22. when the windows program is running PROGMAN.EXE (That is, when
  23. windows is invoked, the main window caption reads:
  24.                       PROGRAM MANAGER
  25.  
  26. If you are running a 3rd party vendor desktop program in place
  27. of PROGMAN.EXE, you must use the manual windows load process to
  28. load Visual Modem:

  31.     ....after copying Visual Modem into a subdirectory on your hard
  32.         drive...
  33. 1:  From your windows session select FILE, NEW, PROGRAM ITEM.
  34. 2:  Type Visual Modem 3.5 in the description field.
  35. 3:  Type the full path and filename of Visual Modem on your hard drive.

  37. When you press enter, Visual Modem will be permanently loaded into
  38. your windows session.
